The Problem
In 2019 we were planning a winter traverse of the Haute Route. We needed a three-layer shell that breathed at pace, a pack that loaded correctly with 14kg, and boots that stayed dry for seven consecutive days. We tried seventeen combinations. None of them worked completely.
46.1080° N, 7.0794° EThe Build
We spent six months spec'ing each category from first principles. GORE-TEX Pro instead of consumer membranes. Dyneema® main body panels instead of standard nylon. YKK AQUAGUARD® zips instead of untaped alternatives. The cost was higher. The weight was lower. The performance was conclusive.
45.8326° N, 6.8652° EThe Test
The Apex 45L crossed seven passes and spent four nights at altitude on the first outing. We broke the hip belt buckle on day three — the design flaw was fixed in the production run. We returned to the same route the following winter. Nothing broke.
45.9237° N, 6.8694° EThe Community
We sent 200 packs to trekkers in 12 countries with one ask: use them hard and tell us exactly what fails. 184 came back with detailed feedback. 16 came back broken. We fixed every failure mode. That community is still the most important part of TrekX.

We don't do seasonal. Every piece is designed for the mountain pass, not the trailhead.
Material Truth
Recycled shell. Recycled fabric. The construction is the statement. We care about our planet.
Earned Silence
No collaborations for reach. No drops for hype. We ship when the gear is ready. Quality is our promise.
Community as Cartography
1,000+ trekkers contribute route data, gear feedback and summit logs. The product gets better with every ascent.
